The right machine depends on your venue type, customers and space.
Traditional Local Pub
Best mix: Digital fruit machine + pool table + jukebox. Regulars love playing pool, the fruit machine earns steadily, and the jukebox creates atmosphere.
City Centre Bar
Best mix: Digital fruit machine + boxing machine + jukebox. Higher footfall means higher turnover. Boxing machines work well with the late-night crowd.
Gastropub / Food-Led
Best mix: Just a fruit machine, or nothing. Gaming machines can clash with the dining atmosphere. If you do have one, place it away from the restaurant area.
Sports Bar
Best mix: Pool table + darts + fruit machine + jukebox. Activities complement the sporting atmosphere. Consider air hockey or table football if you have the space.
Family Pub
Best mix: Kids' rides + pool table + (carefully placed) fruit machine. Kids' rides in the family area keep children entertained. Pool gives teenagers something to do.
Space Considerations
Before you commit, think about space:
- Pool table: Needs ~16ft x 12ft including cue space
- Fruit machine: About 3ft x 3ft, plus access
- Jukebox: About 3ft x 2ft
- Boxing machine: About 3ft x 4ft, plus swing space
